In 1980, The Arborview Companies began at 709 Centre Street in Jamaica Plain as a Real Estate Management and Development firm called Arborview Development Corp. Pleasant Realty Inc., the sister company, was located on the street level below Arborview Development Corp and had a separate focus on real estate Brokerage and Rentals alone. Word spread about the desirability of Jamaica Plain as a neighborhood, and of the integrity and success of Paul’s companies. More and more families came to Pleasant Realty and it grew to be the largest independent real estate firm in the area turning into a mega operation with over 30 Brokers by 1988.

To scale back into a smaller, more boutique style company, Paul sold Pleasant Realty in 1990 and expanded Arborview Development Corp to now include Arborview Realty Inc. He continued in the same location, combining the three divisions, Management, Restorations, and Brokerage under one umbrella; The Arborview Companies.

The Arborview Companies continues to grow out of the second floor at 709 Centre Street, right in the heart of Jamaica Plain. Unlike many local Real Estate companies, we own the building where our office is located and plan on being around for a long time. We have been in Jamaica Plain for many years now and our reputation is for “getting top dollar for property sold in this area”. This is because we have become so familiar with the market here.
